Directions
To use the Ancol Large 'scissor type' nail clippers, ensure your pet is calm and still. If your pet is new to having its claws trimmed, it may help to have another person present to hold your pet. Hold the pet's toe firmly, keeping it still. Open the clippers by pulling the safety catch downwards. The scissors have a guard which can be used to ensure only a small amount of nail is cut. Place the clipper over the very end of the claw, and close it to remove the end of the claw.

Grooming tips: Grooming is a wonderful way to bond with your dog, but dogs that are not used to grooming should be introduced to it slowly. Begin grooming sessions when your dog is relaxed, if possible after they have exercised. Use tools gently and avoid tugging on the skin or on knots or mats. Give your dog plenty of reassurance throughout the grooming session. Pause or end the grooming session if your dog becomes agitated or shows signs of stress. Keep grooming sessions brief to begin with, and increase the length of the sessions as your dog becomes used to grooming.
